December happenings…

December happenings, Christmas, New Year's...

Let's begin by enjoying a moment of cuteness...

Amy returned from her trip to the Dominican Republic

We started the month of December off by enjoying a number of performances...

Ballet Wests, "The Nutcracker," at the Capitol Theater in Salt Lake City 
was everything I have imagined it would be, and more!  
WOW!!!

Eric gave us tickets to the Hale Center Theater in Sandy to see Charles Dickens, "A Christmas Carol!"  

I've been wanting to see the new theater there and it was stunning!!!


Little L was in a ballet performance of her own...

She did a spectacular job!!!

Tim, Luke, Brian and W took a load to the dump where our construction vehicle-loving grandson was able to see an excavator, among other cool equipment!


Luke loved the trip too!


It was a good reminder to declutter and weed out our stuff!

It's really helping the drought situation-so grateful for it!

We took Luke out to see the Christmas lights.  
Many of the houses have lights that a synchronized to music that you can access on the radio station

It's sometimes tricky to find things he loves to do.

Amy left with her cousin Rachel H and some friends to spend Christmas break in Mexico, 
so we spent a night opening presents with her before she left...

We opened Brian and Chloe's family presents on Saturday morning





They decided to wait and open some of Amy's presents when she got back from Mexico...

We opened more presents and went to church for one hour
The Christmas music there was spectacular!










Luke snuck into the laundry room with his favorite yakisoba feast, made a bench out of a tall laundry basket, and shut the door so he could celebrate Christmas in peace
Brian and Chloe came for lunch and then Kelsee came with M, L and A and we ate and opened gifts
The kids played with the toys they got...
Eric came for dinner
We had a Choate siblings call in the evening and caught up with December relatives happenings.


New Year's Eve 2022

Amy had a bit of trouble getting home from Mexico...
When she went to board the plane, the airport worker said she needed an immigration stamp and sent her on a wild goose chase (apparently, when you drive into a country and fly back, you need an immigration stamp, which is a good thing to know).  She got food poisoning and threw up in the garbage can and had bad diarrhea.  Sorry, probably too much information! She missed her flight and then had to buy another ticket.  She flew to Texas and spent the night in the airport.  Early the next morning, she flew to Las Vegas, NV and then finally made it back to Utah on New Year's Eve.

She took a long bath in lavender epsom salts, was able to eat some soup, and slept for a few hours before the festivities began...
Fortunately she felt much better after that!




Eric's family came over, Leland came and Brian and Chloe's family
We ate dinner...

We played several minute to win it games...


Leland made an amazing escape room with lots of puzzles and problems to figure out...









Oh boy, this is only a fraction of all the things we did to find the code.
There were many layers of things to figure out...
It was really amazing!
