Gingerbread House Decorating Party, etc...
Amy flew with a Waterford friend to California. They were going to a Taylor Swift concert, to Disneyland and to the beach. They should be coming home soon and we can't wait to hear about the trip!
Saturday was the gingerbread house decorating party. Rick and Kelsee came and we had a nice visit with them. Mindy and Eric came with Stevie, Boa, and Jessica. Cousin Jordan Eads and her husband Ben and two kids came (they were here from California for Uncle Gene's funeral). Eilee and Isaac came, Conner, Rachel and her kids, all of Heidi and Ken's family. It was fun.
Uncle Gene Starr passed away and the funeral was Wednesday at Rick and Shauna's church. He was buried at the Highland Cemetery across the street and down a ways on Highway 92. We pass by that cemetery all the time and it's neat to think we have family there now. He was in the military and they paid a beautiful tribute to him for his service. Rachel Johnson took this beautiful picture of Aunt Barbara receiving the flag that was on the casket.
Sunday we had a special Stake Conference with a visit from Elder Dean Davies who is a member of the Presiding Bishopric. President Raines spoke about the importance of being kind, President McCune who is the mission president of the Provo Utah Mission spoke about miracles that have happened in this mission. He said this is the Lord's work and he knows each of us and that miracles are happening each day. Several people bore their testimonies about Christ and then Elder Davies spoke about the strength we can receive by being close to the Savior.
Todd brought home several of his beautiful ceramics peices that he has been working on over the semester. They are lovely!
