Foam Day, Happy Birthday Tim, Julia and Dyllan's wedding...
For Pioneer Day, we celebrated by attending Lehi City's Foam Day. We met Mindy and Eric's family there and met Mindy's cousin Sarah who was also there. David came over and we watched Star Wars Rebels with him. We watched all the fireworks going off in the neighborhood at night.
Tim turned 49 and we celebrated with Mexican food and cheesecake. He is an amazing husband/father and we are grateful for the many things he does. Love you Tim!!!
We picked up David on Thursday and he spent the night so that we could get an early start the next day for Boise, Idaho to attend Julia and Dyllan's wedding and reception. Julia was born when Grandma Shaffer was 78 and she has always said she wanted Grandma to be at her wedding. Grandma Shaffer will be 101 years old next week on August 3rd. We are certainly blessed to have had her in our lives for so long. What a great inspiration she is!
Dyllan was just baptized in December, so they had a beautiful wedding at this gorgeous park in Boise and will get married in the temple next year.
Luke was so good during the whole time!
Amy and Luke
David loved every minute of the trip and was wanting to stay longer, but alas, we had to head back home the next day. Tim and David stayed at Grandma Shaffer's and were able to help her get to the wedding and reception. (she fractured her hip and pelvis and was just out of the hospital for the wedding). Amy, Luke and I stayed at a nearby hotel. It was fun to watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
We took a late night run to Denny's
And night swimming at the outdoor pool
The next day was Corbin's birthday (Cindy and Dave's youngest)
I love all the neat pictures on Grandma Shaffer's walls. It's like a museum!
The top row of girls there is Nadeen, Kay (Tim's mom), Glenda, Susan, and Mary Dawn.
The oval picture of the young girl is Grandma Shaffer.
Aunt Glenda painted this one of Grandpa and Grandma Shaffer
The reception was lovely
So happy for this cute couple!
Grandpa Shaffer's testimony (he passed away 36 years ago)
Grandma Shaffer has a fun wit and is so cute with Luke!
It was the best visiting with family and we also went to see Aunt Nadeen and Uncle Don
Tim with Aunt Susan and Uncle Dave
On the way home, we stopped by the cemetery in Hagarman.
It still had the shell necklace that Heidi left for Memorial Day weekend when they were here.
It is such a beautiful place and so peaceful. It was a wonderful trip!
