Tim had a two week spring break, so the first week, we rented a 12 passenger van and drove to a condo in Newport Beach, California, arriving just as the sun was setting...
The rental company let us pick it up the night before so we could pack the van
We left first thing the next morning...
We stopped at a gas station in Spanish Fork and W got out for a bit and spied an EXCAVATOR!
After the trip when we asked him his favorite part, he said it was seeing the excavator-ha!
The condo was a block from the beach, so we ran out to dip toes in the ocean...
The condo had three large bedrooms, two bathrooms and a pull out bed in the living room. The kitchen was stocked with all the dishes, pans, etc. we would need. Also a dish washer, washer and dryer.
In the morning, we went for a morning walk on the boardwalk...so beautiful!!!
We had fun watching this lone surfer on a hydraulic surf board that floated just above the waves...
It was Chloe's birthday!!!
Heading into the park
A little recreate photo taken with a photo from our California trip two years ago...
We headed to Knott's Berry Farm!
Lunch break at Panda Express
Another recreate from our last trip! The two Timothy's!
Brian picked up a Baskin Robin's ice cream cake for Chloe's birthday, but when we got back to the condo, the lights went out. They went out because of some construction and were out for about three blocks around us. Luckily we had a flashlight and some candles, so we sang "Happy Birthday to YOU" and celebrated in the dark. It was kind of cool!
Happy birthday, Chloe!!!
She's amazing in every way! Love her so much!!!
Friday was beach day
The water was a bit chilly, but you got used to it pretty fast!
Just the right amount of waves...
We had the whole beach mostly to ourselves. It was a great time to get in a little jogging...
On the evening, we headed over to San Diego
My companion from the MTC served in the Mormon Battalion Visitor Center for quite awhile. At our annual Education Week luncheon last summer, she told me of all the fun updates to the center and encouraged me to go. We ran into a missionary couple serving there who knows my companion from Louisiana where she is from. It was fun to chat with them.
Also, W loved the "panning for gold" activity at the center.
On our last day, we took another morning walk on the boardwalk before packing up to leave...
last night walk
Chloe has been working on a set of NFT's, so we thought this sign in California was funny!
Our last day of a fun trip!
We had a great trip home.
Can't wait 'til next year!!!
Trip to the Mt. Timpanogos Temple
This ward has all their Relief Society presidents from the past 20 years
(they were all still in the ward!) each spoke about their experience.
It was so good!

LaNae got to visit several of the other ward's Relief Society Birthday Celebration activities
Cutest grandkids!!!
M and L played with some of the neighbor kids
Took M and L to see Eric's kids
Tim and I went on a fun yummy date to the Cheesecake Factory.
The salmon with lemon sauce, mushrooms, capers and broccoli was divine!!!
We took a quick class at the Apple store afterwards to learn how to use some of the photography features on our phones.
We started experimenting with vegetarian dinners.
This one is spaghetti squash with a marinara sauce, parmesan cheese and fresh basil.
This one is a vegetarian chili
