Oct 2020 General Conference, Grandma Shaffer's visit, new baby in the family...

Brian and Chloe are loving their new service missionary calling working with BYU Pathway students in Japan, Mongolia and Guam.  They meet online each Thursday early in the morning because of the time difference.  It has been an extraordinary experience for them so far!

I saw three deer on my early morning walk and caught this picture of one of them.

One of our favorite games this year for date night has been Sushi Go!

So fun!

My sweet ministering sister, Lindsay, dropped off a packet of fun scrap papers to take notes on during General Conference.  It was so awesome to find the perfect pattern for each speaker :)

General Conference this year was especially good.  Each speaker seemed to talk directly to these unusual times we are living through right now with the pandemic, social unrest, presidential elections coming up and all manner of natural disasters.  President Nelson announced six new temples-one in Orem, UT.  So excited for it!

Amy and I got Halibut this year for Women's conference and watched it at home.  Sister Eubank gave a great talk on unity for all the Relief Society sisters.  It was excellent!
All the talks were so good!

Then I gave this lady a perm!

She loves it!

It added lots of body to her long lovely locks!

Maybe I should get one too...

Tim and I watching General Conference in the comfort of our own home!

We found out that Ricky tested positive on Wednesday for Covid and Kelsee tested positive on Thursday.  Tim, Brian and Leland had enjoyed breakfast with Rick at Wines Park the Saturday before, so we all quarantined and got tested just in case.  Luckily we all tested negative and Amy was able to return to work, but Tim had to stay home all week and Leland stayed home for three days.

The new Lehi police station is almost finished.  It is huge and turned out really nice.

Fall is here and we put a few pumpkins out on the front porch...

Front yard roses are especially beautiful...

Our 104 year old Grandma Shaffer visited from Boise, ID

It was the first time for her to meet Chloe and Wesley and we were thrilled to be able to get this picture of her.  She is sharp as a tack, her wit is unparalleled and she is quite an inspiration to all her posterity!

We love her very much!!!

She gave Amy a beautiful kimono that she got on one of her trips to Japan.  What a treasure!

The Stake Relief Society Presidency is facilitating a pilot self-reliance class on Emotional Resilience.  It has been excellent and I am learning so much.  I get to facilitate the next class by myself since the other members of the presidency will all be out of town on fall break next week.  Wish me luck! :)

Carson and Christie had their baby girl in Florida where Carson is working right now.  Her name is Tessa Cindy.  Of course Cindy is over the moon to finally have a granddaughter in the family.. . and a namesake!
She is a beauty too!
